My prayers go out to the families in this article, and others not mentioned fighting CF. I pray treatments are found to alleviate symptoms and eventually cure these patients.

Many years ago in Hamilton, a friend of our family was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. Susan's family moved out of state, but we still kept in touch, and followed her trials and progress. We watched a video about Susan one Christmas, and as a family, each made our wishes known about organ donation. If a decision had to be made, we wanted everyone to know and support our decision. Time is important.

Our families occassionally keep in touch, and Susan is now doing great after a double lung transplant. Please go to the foundation web site she started to learn more about this disease. http://www.reachingoutfoundation.org/index.htm See "Lung Transplantation" for more of her story. You can also go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKZAkmi2PeI to watch the video we did.

With holidays upcomming, make a living wish with your family. For more information on organ donation in Alabama visit http://alabamaorgancenter.org/ Don't forget, if it is your choice, have it indicated on your driver's license next renewal.
