Wal-Mart deserves credit for doing the right thing.[quote from article]
i am truly thrilled for the lady who was in this mess, but why should Walmart be patted on the back for doing what is right? they should have never put that poor lady through all this. i'm glad she comes out to the good, certainly she deserves it.
Personally, I am very torn about this. Being a manager, I have had to stand in front of a room full of people and tell them why they will have to pay more for health insurance next year.
With Wal-Mart not collecting the $470,000, they will no doubt pass this cost on to their other employees. Is it fair to them to have to pay more?
I understand that most folk feel like they did the right thing for her, but at what cost to the rest of their employees?
if it wasn't for the power of the internet amd quick communication they would have never backed off. 120 years ago we had the "pony express" and the insurance co's are killing us..I pay 4,000/yr single for my BC/BS and I don't even live in US..but just in case..i need it.and if the same thing happened to me..they better come after my monies not as long as i a gun!!
I'm glad that Wal Mart finally came to their senses and helped that poor woman out, After all, they have a whole lot more money than most of all together will ever earned together
I can tell you for a FACT! The health insurance at Wal-Mart is NOT all is it cranked up to be. You have some working full-time hours BUT classified as part-time. Now unless you are full-time you are not eligible for insurance. They do offer insurance for part timers BUT not to after one year. Also you cannot get it on your family during that time. Now figure that!
