I see where Walmart is raising the average full time wage from $12.85 hr. to $13.00 hr.

That huge jump in take home pay should go a long way toward raising the standard of living

for many people. What will they think of next? Opening two or maybe three check-out lanes during rush hours?

Where do I apply? There is no way to do any better than this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Places where there isn't much else that's better, although unemployment is getting better. You have to pay what's competitive in the market.  For example, Walmart pays $17-18 in stores near the oil industry in North Dakota.

The fact that they had to settle a lawsuit over wages last quarter probably helped things along too.

From what I read it was to go up to $10/hr  from for min wage workers.  I think (not gonna research it) that at $10.50/hr a person would no longer need to get food stamps, so maybe if the average pay goes up for all of WalMart workers, the food stamp useage will go way down.
That should make all the R;s happy, but only because they never realized that most people drawing food stamps actually are working people.
Now, if only fast food joints would do the same, we could pretty much cut the food stamps down a lot.
