It's really great to see that Travis is still going strong in the music industry. Not only for himself, but for the Shoals area in general. He was and always will be a great contributor to the history and future of the Shoals music scene!Having grown up in Sheffield during the heydey of the music industry, I have continued to keep track of the music there, even though I've been gone for over 27 yrs. I myself was a drummer back in the '60's, and even played in a couple of the studios and in 4 or 5 bands....Believe me...I regret giving it up in '72. But, back to Travis, I watched him play countless times in the studio and , yes, at Sky park..lol He was great!! Learned alot from him and his drummer( Don I think)Play on Travis, I hope to make it up to see you in person again someday.

That depends on what is big. Travis had a hit with the instrumental Scratcy ih the 60s. He toured with Peter and Gordon, Played the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson,Did Carl Perkins and friends special on HBO I believe it was,And played guitar on a gazillion hits for different artists that recorded at Fame. Pretty good for a country boy and a Gibson 335.

Maybe, but he’s still better than the lions share of them out their.
I first saw him play at the old Yellow Lantern in the mid Seventies. Personally I think he’s better now than he was back then.
I saw him play I think two years ago at the park by the Marriott. He rocked the crowd! I bought every CD he was selling at the time, that I didn't already own. Prior to that the last time I saw him was at the state line in St. Joe, TN. He can rock out Funk 49 like no other. You go Travis, no matter the age, you'll always be on of my favorite local musicians!
I remember seeing him play weekends with Jerry Bridges and The Willard Posey Reunion at Johnny Hoods at the state line. AT club13 my buddies bet me 20 bucks I wouldn't go play Travis's guitar at break. So I asked Travis. He said go ahead but you got to split the twenty with me. I made it up to the stage before the bouncers"escorted" me out. Lots of good times there. And all the bands that played the state line clubs were awesome.

leo and semi this is a bit off subject but, does anybody remember Anna Belle? Club 13 early 70s about 72 -73 . As far as Travis goes he is great, been paying my two bits to hear him play for years.

Anna Belle what a great band, everything from Charlie Rich to the Rollin Stones. Best I can remember Wednesday night was free beer or penny beer night. Watered down draft. Ahhh those was the days.
I do remember Anna Belle. They played a great version of Wet Willies Shout Bamalama. May be wrong here but I seem to remember them doing Red Hot Chicken by Wet Willie also. A Great club band. The Shoals at that time was in its musical heyday. Some of the most talented players in the country were here. If you were in a playing band here, you could go anywhere in the country and get a playing gig.
