Webb delivers stinging response

In a stinging Democratic Party response to President Bush's State of the Union address, freshman Sen. James Webb of Virginia said Bush "took us into this war recklessly" and "we are now as a nation held hostage to the predictable and predicted disarray that has followed."

I saw that this morning online. We were brought in recklessly, but theres nothing we can do now to stop it. We leave, and everythings gonna go back to the way it was and most likely terrorists will strike again. It's not really worth the arguement alot of people give it. Were in the war now so theres not much we can do to just leave. If we do bring troops home some people will be happy, but the ones whos family didn't come home yet will still be angry, and will still have something to argue about. It just a cycle that will not stop. Thats just my two cents.

Its funny you say this and sad that you fall for what you said! They said the same thing you said about Viet Nam.

Exactly, the backlash after they get back up on their feet is not gonna be good.

No, it won't be good for them, because they still are not taking the power over their own country like they agreed to do.

The backlash of the United States could be dangerous also... Our Troops, and Our Country is what I am worried about!

What I am afraid of, is that IF and WHEN we do pull out, what is the 'backlash' going to be?

The backlash will be like it was when we pulled out of Nam, No Jobs for the troops, high gas prices, high food prices,Everything will go sky high! This Iraq war is making somebody Rich!

Unlike Viet Nam with 1,000,000 drafted troops, this war has 150,000 volunteer soldiers. Plus, if the war is over, they might be more willing to stay in the service. I do agree though, someone is making a lot money on this war, and it's not your average American taxpayer.

Almost every place I know saves the jobs the Soldier had before he/she was deployed.
