Weird Pets

My mom had a cat once that would go crazy for Doritoes!

Both my dogs love grapes and bananas. I was eating a banana one afternoon while I was on my computer. I turned my head for a minute to get an address. I felt a little something and turned to find half my banana missing along with one of the dogs.

Whoa, you might want to consult your vet about those grapes. I had no idea about their toxicity until I lost a German Shepherd. I had been using grapes to train him.

Thankfully they usually only eat one each - and very rarely. I have noticed that they chewed them up but did not ingest them. No more grapes. Thank you so much.

My dog loves hushpuppies , but we was at capt. D's one day and the lady told me onions was bad for dogs , its true .

My daughter had a Dachsie that ate one of my twenty dollar bills once. We taped the shreds back together and I spent it, Dachsie slobber and all.

My Chihuahua liked grapes too until our vet told us not to give them to her. She loves fruit of any kind. Come to think of it, she looks a little like a fruit bat.

I had a cat who turned up her nose at any table food unless it was filet mignon.

My cat, Sevy, likes popcorn.

I had a siamese cat that when you peeled a tomato he would woop every dog and cat in sight. Run all of them off for the fresh tomato peels. He lived a fat and happy life to ten years old

My kitty loves Angel Food Cake.

You're welcome. I was in such a hurry to reply to you I didn't even finish reading your post until now. I just don't want to hear of another precious pet lost because of eating the wrong human foods.

After years of having very large dogs I now have a teeny Pom, and I'm so paranoid about what he eats. He'll dance for lettuce and just about any fruit... especially watermelon. When I fill the bird feeders he goes crazy begging for sunflower seeds, but I won't let him have any. Anyone know if they're bad for dogs?

This wasn't my pet that loved tomatoes and Chex mix but I promise you it is a true story. About 20 years ago (good lord I am getting older) my parents took me and some other kids to camp out at Joe Wheeler (I believe) and while we were there my mom was slicing tomatoes for hamburgers and a deer came up and was eating them. I was sitting there eating Chex Mix and I threw a little towards it and it ate it and it literally followed wherever you would throw the Chex Mix. Once it started raining I decided to get into my mom's van and that darn deer tried to get into the van with us. My dad has a picture of this somewhere I do wish I could find it. It was so funny. My dad has talked about that little deer for years...

My cat likes ranch dressing and honey mustard. And my dogs like gummies. They usually steal them from my kids. lol

LOL My cat likes Shake and Bake mix. He will get in the trash by hook or crook to get to what's left over.

Once, he ate a whole loaf of bread. The weirdie.

i share my stash with cat and dog. i just remembered that when i was like 6 or 7 years old my parents had a siamese cat that would eat cantaloupe right off the vine when it was still in the garden..weird cat. it would also run up to you and scratch you and then run off, for no apparent reason besides personal amusement i guess.

My pet chimp likes Xanax and hot tea.

That is probably a good thing.

About 12 years ago i had a Westie named Gator that would fight you for a piece of peppermint. She also loved ice cream. Sometimes she would sneak out of the house and the only way to get her to come back would be to stand in the doorway raking a spoon across a bowl. She would think you were eating ice cream and come running.

Like most dogs, Gator liked to hide food. One of her two favorite spots was my husband's work boots. After several mornings of sleepily putting a foot in a boot, then hastily pulling it out while cussing, he learned to keep them on a shelf.

She shared a bed with my daughter and they often argued over the pillow...Gator thought it was hers, and her other favorite hiding place for food was under the pillow...where she liked saving food for a night time snack.
Debra would get in bed and often find pieces of hamburger, bread, fruit, etc. waiting under the pillow when she would try to get comfortable.
And Gator loved ice cubes and would also hide them under "their" pillow.
Hearing Debra go to bed, then minutes later yell "ohhhyuck...what the heck is that?" was pretty common for us.

A Westie is a neat little dog breed. I'm sure you miss her.

This is the truth. We had a poodle named "Andre" who could say "hamburger" when he wanted hamburger meat.
He thought he was a german sheppard, which did eventually end his life.

I used to have a chihuahua that made a fool of himself over 3D Doritos. My lab loves bananas and green beans.

the goat who lives with me eats dog food. i have a cat who loves popcorn, and one who likes the juice that is left from a can of stewed tomatoes, and pinto beans. i have a dog who will act plumb foolish for peanut butter. and we had a cat when i was a kid who loved mcdonald's french fries.

Do you have any skunks around? they eat cat food, and will use a litter box.

No wonder the call them "pole cats".

Skunks make good pets. A neighbor gave us one that was de-scented when i was little. His name was "Dammit"...which is the first thing my Mom said when we brought him home.

We also had a rooster that thought he was a cat....and he loved chicken flavored cat food.
