I'm just not a death penalty kind of guy, however I would shed no tears for this one. The price of jailing would be well worth it if it caused the next one to think before acting. Or do they have any rational thinking going on? I do like the tradition of inmates putting animals like this guy on the very bottom of prison society.

I think truth in sentencing, as in this case, would cut down on a lot of child molesting.

I think they all think they'll get away with it. I'm happy if the judges are finally giving stiffer sentences for rape, etc. Just think, this wasn't even rape-- (just) sodomy. He should have to send 50% of his prison income to the victim for counseling.

This guy is now 21 years old and will be 81 when he's released from prison. Then, he will be on probation until he's 91.

Do you really think this person will spend the entire sentence of 60 yrs in prison...they will probably split the sentence, he will serve maybe 5-10, get out, be on probation, move near a school, daycare, and start all over again.
I certainly hope that's not the case, but it's the way things usually go. The prisons are overcrowded and they are constantly letting prisoners out that should rot in there. JMHO

Nympheas, I would say you didn't read the article. Neither do you know what a split sentence is.

I would like to see all sentences for rape carried out in this manner. Perhaps we will.

There's no CIT (good time) on Class A felonies and, according to the article, no parole when a minor is involved. I think there should be no parole on any sex crime.

Also, I don't think Class A felonies can be split.
