What do you think of Florence High School?

FHS has done the city proud since the inception of a single city HS. Being a Coffee graduate, I was sad to see my alma mater disappear, and went into the new scenario with a great deal of trepidation. However, the athletic department has held its own in a more competitive division; the band (finally now combined with a once separate freshman band) is powerful and talented; the chorus is blessed with an equal deal of talent as is the drama department.

Academically, I believe that the student body is representing the community just as well.

Mrs. Eck is still there, though I've heard rumors of her retirement at this year's end. I don't know who else you may remember from there, but I know that there are still several faculty members who came from both old schools.

Seems that the politics that dominated the transitional period, including, but certainly not limited to a less-than-well-liked principal, tough first year, and a dress-code battle that rivalled many historic wars, have passed them all by and things are going along well.
