For MONTHS now, there have been the "Cherokee Posts" ...which most people here haven't a clue...and could give a rats azz LESS!
We've had...golf carts on the sidewalk...crazy Ol Ladies...City Council Kaos!
Followed by the "Free Cherokee" faction!
Time to face reality CHEROKEE PEOPLE...
You are...gas stations on the way to Memphis.
...a place to P*ss on the way to Memphis.
and...some pretty good "Fast Food Gas Staions" that cook up pretty good "Chicken Liver" baskets.
When you come on these Forums with your CHEROKEE laundry?
Most people just go...Hummmm...

I really have to agree with you on that and as I have said before, Cherokee is not a destination. But it could be if we could get the warring factions working together. I have big plans for Cherokee but I am very leery about investing more of my money in a town that can't govern itself peacefully. There are business that could make a huge difference in Cherokee but at this time I really don't want to waste my effort, time and money in making that happen. Like I said in an earlier post, I want Cherokee to prosper because I want to prosper.

Cobra,
I am going to break out of my mold and quit having fun for a minute. I am no intellectual giant, a pretty dim bulb on the tree, but you seem to have a genuine love of your community. Perhaps there are others in your community who share your concerns. Try to unite the people who wish to improve your town and attend city council meetings, vote out the idiots and replace them with responsible qualified personell and consult a city planner to find a solution to the problems. I know that may sound a little radical but you have a better chance of getting results that way than by posting on a forum that is pretty much for entertainment purposes only.
Hello Folks, it is me again with some really usful information. Do any or all of you realize that there are several different threads: Freedo los, what does it' fix', cherokee tales. There have been as of right now 9 pages on these threads and 48 Quotes. Do we really need all this quoting and repeating? Most of us are really able to remember waht we just read. I know you are trying to make a point but give it a rest. Reading Cobrs's rantings are bad enough once much less 15 times in the same post. Yeah, i guess i am just in a bad mood today. Feel sad for Cherokee and the good people who live here. Most of us probably feel like Don Quiote s/p and feel we are fighting windmills.

Cobra, this is the best advice you will probably get on this forum.
The advice leo gave you is top notch stuff.

I dont think the money spent on taxes for buying gas and grocerys in cherokee would count as an 'investment' in the community.

Seriously, though, you need to be telling the people of cherokee this, not the people of the times daily forum. Most of us really couldnt care less. Matter of fact, Im not sure I would want your money 'invested' in my community. Usually folks want a return on their investment and want to be a part of the decision making process in regards to their investment. With the ranting I've seen here, Im not sure Id want you making any decisions in regards to how a town is run.....

I would like to apologize, to the people of Cherokee, who really love their community, for the sarcasm of my post starting this thread.
As of reading some of your posts (after my "meds" had worn off) It seems that you are really concerned about your town, and want to make a difference.
I salute you.
But...can you now see how it looks to others, who have no investment in your town, when it's all over the forums.
Hope ya'll can get it worked out.

ps. better read this while you can...I've got more "meds" Wink
Dog gone it! Now I'm going to have to go into repentance mode again. WARNING. HORN TOOTING FOLLOWS. Taxes on gas and groceries, no, I have dumped several thousands of dollars on a total renovation of the well known Brotherton house that was built in 1920 it sets on two acres in the center of town. I have invested several more thousands clearing the land and building a campgrounds with small cabins, tent sites, a picnic area, play area with swing sets and peaceful garden areas full or flower and bushes and grapevines. I have also invested in a mr fix it household repair business and appliance repair. I'm close to giving up on Cherokee but I still have some hope that unity will prevail.

Well reality calls me from this land of immaganation but before I go, a few words, To Cherokee reporter. .Colbertcounty1 and CR. It's so obvious who you are and I want to leave some advice. 1 YOU CATCH MORE FLIES WITH HONEY THAN VINEGAR. 2 you are a very small group attempting to use smoke and mirrors to redirect the focus off yourself. 3. You are destroying Cherokee with your antics. What goes around comes back St you only amplified. Hope that stuck in the past thing and that hatred thing works out for You.
Peace out!
