Driving only when necessary and trying then to do everything in one outing. No eating out, and eating less at home, no huge cooked meals where we may have to toss out any of it. No expensive cuts of meat. No recipes where we have to buy expensive ingredients to make it. We are making huge neighborhood gardens this year with most of the families that live here involved. We have some elderly that can't help but they can have anything they want from the gardens. No more 'rambling' and going shopping just for fun. That leads to wasting money on junk that ends up getting tossed or donated. One thing I have noticed after years of living here, strays are showing up around here needing to be fed. We are feeding them because the shelters are swamped. I think a lot of people can't afford to feed or get medical attention for them any longer and are dropping them in neighborhoods hoping people will feed and take care of them, or turning them into the shelters. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING WE NEED TO DO----GET DEMOCRATS OUT OF EVERY OFFICE WE CAN.
I commute 100+ miles per day. But I have dropped my cruising speed down to 60-62mph on open highway instead of 'balls to the wall' like most idiots on the road tend to do. If they want me to go faster they better be prepared to buy my gas.

being retired, did I save enough? how long will I live? it is a guess.
eating out has been eliminated. we have always had dogs, however after last two died of old age. we decided not to get another. possible vet cost makes us question if we can give proper care. planning trips better, eliminating non essential trips. canceled trip to see family. not buying non essentials. not going to pay for sport events, movies, etc. keeping 2 months of cash hidden in house. purchased side of beef, saved lots of money as we did it just before inflation.
