This is the incident at Wal-Mart, as I recall. The Jaynes or store employees called the police or some such. The family who was predicting warm temps for the deceased claimed free speech and hired an attorney specializing in personal rights who got them off (I think). I'm sure he was ashamed to have them for clients, but they were entitled to a defense.
You're sure a defense attorney was ashamed of his clients?
Well, henhouse, I may not have chosen the best wording. I believe this was a case of being court appointed and not being able to refuse (judges don't like that). If I recall correctly as to who this atty was, he is extremely ethical, not an ambulance chaser, etc., and a kind, caring individual.
My personal opinion of the family tormenting the Jayneses is not very nice, but I do know that in the US they are entitled to a defense, just as we all are. I sympathize with the Jayneses--I wasn't aware that this was something of an old home place as my family used to say. This might sound trite, but when I remember (and the little grey cells are getting fewer and fewer), I'm going to pray for them.
From reading this, I'm not totally sure of all the ins and outs with property lines, but there must be someway to segregate the other family so that they are out of sight. If it takes money, perhaps the Stutts Road church could help with a private collection. I know that I would be happy to give a small amount.
