Gracies, the signs are just past my house a little bit. The elders and members of Stutts Road Church have tried to work with them for years to no avail. They're happy in their misery I suppose. Apparently there is nothing legal they can do about it.

It has been on one of the Huntsville news channels before.

Why doesn't one of them move?

Haha... that's awesome.. I mean, in a hideously tasteless way. Just when I was questioning my choice to move back to Alabama because of the cold, the entertainment value spikes, thus righting the scales once again.

Did one of these families sue the other a few years ago or have someone arrested? There was a case similar to this that involved a local "free speech" attorney some time ago. In this case, the dispute was carried over to Wal-Mart.

Please tell me these misguided people don't go to Stutts Road church?

I have been told that the family who is the target of the signs goes to the church, but the people who put up the signs do not.

That's an insult to those of us who drink moonshine out of brown jugs and take pot shots at each other with muskets...

Well anybody with any sense at all knows that moonshine should be drunk from clean clear pint Mason jars. Even to drink shine out of a quart Mason jar would be presumptuous.

the signs are in protest to a land issue, cant remember if it involves an easement or not, I can tell you that the Jaynes family who the signs are directed toward are some of the finest, nicest, Christian folks in the area. I do not know the other folks so cant speak about them, however, I do know that the man has pointed shotguns at kids and people who step near the yard to read the signs.

btw, where are you guys gettin your "shine"? I thought the closet supplier was in North Carolina.

I drove by the place today thinking what an embarrassment to the area. The one's who have the signs up are only showing their ignorance.
I can only imagine the targets of the signs is just waiting for the fools to die.

No people this is hatred through and through. I have very little sympathy for hatred. Although ignorance is another issue.

Remember a while back about the hatred towards a neighbor because he didn't mow his grass to suit them? It is close to the same area.

I know some of the people involved. The ones who have put up these signs are nuts in my opinion. The wife is crazier than her husband and she instigates most of the attacks. But he goes along with her. When I say attacks....the first incident that I know of happened about 15 years ago. The crazy people put huge football sized rocks in the dirt road that borders their property so that the other people could not get onto the main road without getting the rocks out of the way. It all started when the crazy people wanted to buy some land that had been in the other people'sfamily for years. It was offered first to family(all of whom live on the before mentioned dirtroad.) When the Jaynes bought it from ..I belive, an uncle, the people on the corner went balistic. They put up no trespassing signs ontheir property and then accused Mr. Jaynes of trespassing. Took him to court and won because it was both of their word against his. They took his father to court that same day saying that he had run them off the road. The father's case was first and it was thrown out because his car had been in the shop the whole week that he supposedly ran them off the road. I have no idea why the judge ..whose initials are DBP didn't see right through them since she tried both cases. In any case Mr. Jaynes has a criminal record because of this and should have appealed but probably just wanted to put the whole thing behind him.
Since then they have continually harassed these people and thir kids. They have taken 2 of the kids to court that I know of.
They pull out their car into the dirtroad when they see them coming and just sit there blocking the way. They spray their car with a water hose. they walk out in front of them and just stand their screaming obscenities and shooting birds at them. The Jaynes are very nice Christian people who do nothing in return. Turn the other cheek types. When the father was dying of cancer the crazy people made a miniature coffin and put it out in front of the signs ..the sign said they he was going to h... one body part at a time. (he had had an organ removed ). The signs mostly say that the hypocrites are going to h... but sometimes say that their son is gay or their daughter is a w or b. But one sign is always there. That Mr. Jaynes has been convicted of trespassing. It is pathetic that they can get away with all this nonsense because the law gives them freedom of speech.

One other funny thing. ..they put signs up ..so that people will read them. Perhaps..but I have known of several occasions where people stop to read the signs and they come out and threaten them if they don't leave. So if you go read the signs.. beware..they are not playing with a full deck.

Old Brown Chair, I heard that it started with the land sale but the neighbors went totally crazy when the county dug out the road for drainage. The crazy neighbors said that the Jaynes had set it all up and that they were stealing their land. They put rocks in the ditches so the road would flood and then the signs went up. I agree, the Jaynes family are good folks and Pudd (rest his soul) was a good man to not retaliate against them even when they started trying to drag his whole family down in the mud. I think those signs are a testament to how insane the neighbors really are and it's there with spotlights for the whole world to see.

DBP couldn't "see through" since she tried both cases, because the law kept her from looking at the two cases as a whole. She could only look at the parts in and of themselves. They should have tried to combine the cases so she could have made her decision based on the whole story.

I really hate when ignorant people make themselves look worse than they already are by acting like this. I don't know the whole story but I hope they realize that what goes around comes around and when karma bites it gets you good...I would hate for one of their family members to got to Hades "one body part" at a time -- that is so ridiculous. I feel sorry for everyone around them to have to be exposed to this trashiness.

That explains why they once concreted 2x4's upright in the ditch/ road.LOL I thought that was so that Jewel couldn't pull the schoolbus down the road because I know that she had to go down to the church everyday and turn around to make the turn from the other direction.

I know her and I like her but she made a bad decision and later admitted as much when the crazies kept dragging other family members into court.

if she based her decision on the facts of the case -- she made the right decision regardless ... I wish you could take the facts that you know from one case and apply it to another -- that would get a lot of the sex offenders and other criminals off the street if we could...

I think DBP made the correct ruling at the time based on the info she had and testimony presented. And don't forget that there were also lawyers involved to help twist things around. Once the crazy neighbors kept on and on and on with it though, then I think everyone- judge Debbie Bell included - saw exactly what kind of game they were playing and no one was amused. From what I have read here, people who live in the area are still not amused by it. Freedom of Speech is one thing, but what those people are doing is juvenile and should be considered harrassment.

The facts were just that two people said he was trespassing and the other said he wasn't. There were no other witnesses. No evidence.. So lets say that the judge could be the character witness herself since by this point they were known to be liars under oath. That would be my thinking.

Maybe yall are right. But one funny incident happened when crazies took the son to court over a similar charge. They separated the crazies so that they couldn't hear the others testimony. They asked them both what he and his accomplice were wearing. Well the crazies hadn't planned on that and described two totally different outfits. and even said they ran in different directions.

LOL, now that I hadn't heard! Their son is a good fella, a really nice guy. I hate that all that is still going on, but maybe the crazies will move one day. Or die.

I think maybe Judge DBP thought if she found Pudd guilty, he and the other Jaynes would make darn sure to stay away from the crazy people's land, the neighbors would take their victory and smoke it, and it'd all be over. Then I think she found out that she was wrong.

People would say...myself included...why not just move. But think about it. The extended family that lives on the dirtroad has probably been there for generations. None of them will get a fair price for their house if they tried to sell(the signs would run anyone off). And these are probably houses that they built themselves..that they had planned to live in the rest of their lives. I honestly can't say what my family would do in this situation but it would have been tough raising kids when everytime you leave your house people are screaming obscenities at you. The kids were probably about 8 or 10 when it started.

What is the county road number where the signs are located? And if you were to stop in the front of their house the county has a certain footage of right of way that they wouldn't be able to harrass someone if they stopped there, maybe having car trouble. I would think if they did harrass or threaten someone they could file a complaint with the county sherriff. Sounds like a project for several folks to do, take up the fight for the neighbors that are good christian people.

They are on the corner of CR 34 and 343 which is a dirt road. A few years back it was the big senoir prank thing to see if you could steal the signs. Someone was seen doing it and led them on a high speed chase. They got the tag number and even though none of this family was involved they took one of the daughters to court along with the kids who actually did the deed. The lawyers worked out a deal that they put her on probation and let the others go free. I am not kidding ...it is like upside down world over there.

Oh my point was this...don't try to steal a sign no matter how disgusted st this you get. Because someone in that family will pay for it.
