Hi Jan,

As a Forum Friend who believes strongly that we can debate and even disagree, without offending one onother -- please do not use the name of my Lord and God as your exclamation point.

If you are going to use OMG (which every intelligent person knows means "Oh, my God!") -- let it be the beginning of a serious prayer. Otherwise, you are offending the God I worship and you are offending me and all Christian believers.

I realize you are not a believer; but we are -- and, as a Forum Friend, I ask that you begin your sentence in another way. I know that you are intelligent and can honor this request.

Thank you and God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Bill,

I will not have my speech censored due to your belief. I am sorry that you took offense to it, but it was in no way directed at you or what you believe in. I will not purposely use it to be purposely offensive but if the mood hits me and I feel a "OMG" is appropriate then you will see it again.

I am intelligent enough to see the difference in someone being offensive for effect and someone just using a term or saying for emphasizes. I would hope you were too.

Hi Jan,

Because your comment is so important, I have chosen to respond in a new discussion. Take a look at "Why 'OMG' Is Offensive - And Is It Ever Necessary?"

Thank you, my Friend, for helping me explain to all of our Religion Forum Friends why we Christians feel as we do about this issue.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Buses are athiest?
and why target advertising for athiest buses? it's not like buses are large enough market to devise specialize ads to garner their dollar.

do athiest buses deny the existance of their creator?
cause i have news for them....

and are athiest buses more of a demographic than, say, buddhist buses?
are the muslim buses interested in destroying the jewbuses?
and what faith are those big british double decker suckers? Methodist? seventh day adventbus? church of latterday greyhounds?

ok.. i think i've wrung this one for all i can get out of it.

we now return you to your regularly scheduled debate.

Dear Bill.
Stuff it.

thx Smiler

No, Not all. I am not offended by "OMG". Nor do I believe "O my goodness" or "o my gosh" is taking the Lord's name in vain.
Please don't speak for "all" Christian believers...sheesh.

as far as atheist ads? What's the big deal? Churches advertise out the wazoo. Why would atheists not be afforded the same right?
By the way, religion should have no part in the business world, fwiw.
None.

Nothing. Freedom of speech.
It seems, however, that the atheists on this forum can only "wish" as they are not willing to put their "money where their mouth is".
I offered a grand opportunity, for a mere $4500 (the cost of a billboard) to provide a rolling billboard in the form of my old work van. The slogan of your choice (NO profanity!). Imagine the exposure your cause would get by me rolling through Shoals dining establishment parking lots on a Sunday lunch hour! But, Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!! Frowner
Let SOMEONE ELSE do it!
The offer still stands, though due to the rising cost of fuel, a $.30 per mile surcharge will go into effect.

However, you can always go with the "Budget Package". For a mere $2500, your message will appear, 50 times,in almost neatly, 2 color spray painted graphics, in select areas! Big Grin
I think what has made our country great is two things:

1. Freedom of religion
2. Freedom of speech

I should have the right to speak how I believe, and others should be afforded that same right as well. Both of these freedoms are essential to the foundation of our nation. Too many times some try to say their freedom of religion is more important than your freedom of speech, or that their freedom of speech is more important than your freedom of religion. It's a scary situation when we try to say one trumps the other.

Wish everybody thought like that.

Actually I think most do-it's just the Krazy Glue eaters that have a problem with it. Big Grin

While this sounds "valiant", the fact is...what has made us/protected us, is a strong MILITARY force.
You can "free speech" all you want. If the Nations MILITARY doesn't enforce it...well, you are screwed.
