Shoals Tire in Muscle Shoals. Jackie Howard use to run Bob's but left when Bob got too big for his own britches. I've run around trying to find the best deals(Sam's, Walmart, Sears and so on) and always come back to Shoals Tire. He gives free balancing and rotating if you buy your tires from him. He's a good honest man. Can't say that about some of the others.
I would NOT use Sams club. I have bought at least 6 sets of tires from SAMs (I drive ALOT) and, until recently, they have been my turn to for tires. Here's why I have changed my mind:

Last year, I took my car to have the tires rotated (every 5000 miles, as usual, im literally in there every two to three months for rotation). Whoever rotated the tires let the hubcaps fall to the ground as they popped them off the Camry (instead of holding and setting them on the ground). The way the caps are, as soon as they hit the concrete with the outer side down, it scratched the heck out of them. All four of them (I still have them if anyone would like to see a pic). Because one of them had already been 'curbed' and was already scratched, I asked that they just replace the three that were not previously damaged, which they did (at $90 a piece dealer price.)

All was good and my faith restored to this being just a freak mistake.

Well, week before last I had a nail in the tire and drove up there to get them to fix it (the tire was not flat, just leaking). It was almost dark when they finished, so I went on home. The next day I looked and they put the tire back on the rim backwards. There is a side that is NASTY because it is never cleaned (it is also flat with no wording) and there is a side with wording and patterns that is meant to go 'out'. They put the nasty side out. I took it back up there at lunch that day and got the store manager and the tire manager to show them. I reminded them of the issue I had last year and that I was concerned about their employees not paying attention to what they were doing. The tire manager said there were three in front of me and it would be 90 minutes or so, at which point I told him that I waited my turn yesterday and there employees mistake was not my fault, that he needed to get it addressed immediately. The store manager told him to get it in and fix it.

As soon as the store manager left, the tire manager told me that he did not appreciate me disrespecting him in front of the store manager. I asked what he was talking about and he said he didn't like the fact that I said they were not paying attention to what they were doing. I told him that if he thought the truth was disrespectful, that may be why his employees are having so much problems doing the job correctly.

Well, they turned the tire around and put it back on right away, but when they brought my car out to me, the hub cap for that tire was all scratched up like the ones from last summer, so Sams had to replace it again.

LONG LONG LONG story short, for all the tires I have bought from that place, the last 9 months have changed my mind about ever using them again.

I've got to agree with those that recommend Bob's Tire and Alignment in Sheffield across from the McDonalds and right down from the bridge. They have always been competitive and if you are willing to chose their recommendation on a brand they suggest you can save quite a bit of money and their service after the sale is beyond compare. Additionally you are supporting neighbors instead of a large corporation like Sam's which doesn't take too much care in the way they treat tires and how they remove the tires. Bob's keeps the same help for years and they treat you like family. Additionally Fredericksons are good people also.
Any time I have ever been to Clemmons in Greenhill, I cannot get any one to serve me. It seems as though they think I m there just to hang out, nobody will ask if they can help me. My wife can go there(she does) and they will be breaking their neck to help her, so I have come to the conclusion that they prefer to help women.
Of all the times I have been there, I cannot get any service, so I have quit trying. See what you think Hound dog?
Kirk...
Somehow I get the impression, you not going back to Sam's did them a favor...

Hines Tires in Florence and Tuscumbia...they sale new and previously used tires...Lease Car and Fleet Companies change out their tires at certain times and mileages regardless of the condition of the tire..
You can purchase these tires that are in good shape for 1/3 price of new...
I have been doing that for years....never had a problem...

Yea, you know, us pesky customers that want our vehicles fixed correctly and treated as if they were their own. I don't know what the world is coming to.

Funny thing, when you pay someone for a service, you usually expect them to actually do the job correctly. It's not enough if they just do the job, but do it completely and correctly. But I guess it wouldn't matter that much if they only put three or four of the five lug nuts on. No big deal there, huh? It all comes down to attention to detail.

I am not perfect and I don't expect perfection from anyone. Mistakes happen. If you order a Big Mac and get mcnuggets once, oops. Let it happen three of four times and you'll probably find somewhere else to eat, no matter how much you like Big Macs.

Ohh, and one more thing. I HAVE to go back to Sams. I've already paid for the rotation and road hazard. Or I spend my money and pay someone else to do it after already paying Sams. So they have not gotten rid of me, as you believe. They have just lost me as a customer. When they work on my car I will be monitoring it from outside the bay (in the parking lot) and I will involve the store manager everytime I am there. And, when the time comes for a new set, I'll be looking elsewhere.

I'll share my little experience with Sam's once again!

Sam's Club had to pay for fixing my car before.
I had a Mustang GT, it had Super 44 Flowmaster mufflers & it sounded off very nicely,
and the little jerk who "just had to pull it in" couldn't handle it and fish tailed it into something that caused a good sized ding in my rear fender.

I will NEVER buy tires or anything else from Sam's again after having to deal with the situation & the way that they handled it!

You mean they didn't just admit they screwed up and apologize? Ohh, did the manager say that it was your fault because your car was just too darn powerful?

Be careful how you critize Sams, some folks might say that Sams is better off without you as a customer because you expected them to return your car in the same condition it was in when they got it....
