So, Mark, you read the article? What do you have to say about the violent rhetoric in the article? At first, you were pointing out all of the "war" references Hoffa made, as evidenced by THIS post that you made with the offending words in bold type:

"We got to keep an eye on the battle that we face: The war on workers. And you see it everywhere, it is the Tea Party. And you know, there is only one way to beat and win that war. The one thing about working people is we like a good fight. And you know what? They've got a war, they got a war with us and there's only going to be one winner. It's going to be the workers of Michigan, and America. We're going to win that war," Jimmy Hoffa said to a heavily union crowd.

"President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march. Let's take these son of *****es out and give America back to an America where we belong," Hoffa added.

Now, after reading how the Tea Party wants to "aim it's guns at them", how "politics is a war of position", and that they should "Choose the terrain that makes the fight as loaded in your favor as possible." suddenly you aren't even talking about those "war words" anymore. If you won't admit that Palin's crosshairs and "reload", and the words in the article show that the Tea Party is just as capable of "violent rhetoric" as Hoffa or anyone else, then there is no point in talking to you anymore. You only see what you want to see, you refuse to admit the truth, and you seem to have your head in a very dark place.

Is the right wing tilting at windmills again? Another contrived controversy that has no merit.

Like Fox News, Los Angeles Times Doctors Hoffa Speech

September 06, 2011 5:05 pm ET by Eric Boehlert

A full day after Media Matter debunked the phony Fox News claim that Teamsters President James Hoffa had urged violence during a Labor Day rally in which he introduced President Obama, the mainstream press continues to struggle to get the story right.

This afternoon, the Los Angeles Times posted an item headlined, "Teamster Chief's Salty Language At Obama Event" and reported that, "In his introduction of President Obama in Detroit on Monday, Hoffa warmed up the pro-union crowd on Labor Day with an old-fashioned union call to arms."

The Times then quoted Hoffa:

“President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march. Let's take these son of *****es out and give America back to an America where we belong,” Hoffa said.

In stitching together that quote, the Times omitted an awful lot of what Hoffa said at the rally. In fact, theTimes omitted precisely what Fox News omitted yesterday when it launched the doctored Hoffa story.

Here’s what Hoffa said [emphasis added]:

President Obama this is your army. We are ready to march. And president Obama we want one thing: Jobs. Jobs. Jobs. Jobs. Jobs. Jobs. Jobs. Jobs. That's what we’re going to tell him. He’s going to be - and when he sees what we’re doing here he will be inspired. But he needs help and you know what? Everybody here's got to vote. If we go back and keep the eye on the prize, let's take these sons of a *****es out and give America back to America where we belong! Thank you very much!

What the Times omitted was the entire context. What the Times omitted was the explanation that Hoffa’s controversial “take these son of *****es out” quote was referring to voting Republicans out of office and not, as Fox News tried to sell the story yesterday, a call to violence against Obama’s opponents.

If the press is going to cover contrived controversies, reporters need to get the facts right, not simply follow the Fox News lead.

Thanks, Prop. I don't even own a TV, and I hadn't heard that.

So now Mark, do you STILL want to insist that Hoffa gave hate speech, but the TEA PArty never did? I showed you literally in black and white what words the Tea people and good old Sarah "reload" Palin said. You seem to have trouble acknowledging that. So, I'm sure you'll go on insisting that Fox news had it right, even though they took it out of context. You need to get a better grip on reality.

From your first post in this thread: "I don't think anyone on the right has the right to complain about anything Hoffa said, when the former Republican vice-presidential candidate has said and done worse."

YOU came in swinging about what has happened on the right practically blaming the entire right and Palin for what happened to Rep. Giffords. The tack the 'Fox edited what poor little Jimmy "concrete shoes" Hoffa Jr. had said and taken out of context is specious and was totally wiped out when he doubled down on what was apparently accurately implied by the "Fox edit" the next day. So get over yourself and reaffirm your own tenuous grip on reality. Since Jimmy "concrete shoes" Hoffa Jr. didn't back away at first from what he said, that pretty much sealed it for me, so yeah, Hoffa uttered what can be considered "hate speech", but I don't expect the SLPC or any other "hate watch" group to even bat an eye.

The converse of that is true, but don't let that get in the way of what you believe.

then there is no point in talking to you anymore.

I am inclined to agree with that statement, the little box your mind dwells in is sturdy with unassailable brick walls that are mortared with impregnable prejudices.

You only see what you want to see, you refuse to admit the truth, and...

Again, the converse of that is true.

...you seem to have your head in a very dark place.

Dark? Maybe, at least it's not in a small little box.

A parting thought...

"It is only as retaliation that force may be used and only against the man who starts its use. No, I do not share his evil or sink to his concept of morality: I merely grant him his choice, destruction, the only destruction he had the right to choose: his own. He uses force to seize a value; I use it only to destroy destruction" from Atlas Shrugged, by Ayn Rand

As for targets, bull's eyes, etc.. all of it has been used in everything from politics to selling ice cream.

Now calling the Tea Party racist, bigots, sons of b******, and telling them to Go To Hell are all a bit much, don't you think?

You're right. The "sons of b******" was too much. Should've left it at racist bigots. That's reason enough to tell them to go to hell.

Mr elintorventor:

Seems like all the two legged trash you refer to were at the Tea Party rally in DC.  I wonder how many dentist are in the tea party????  There sure were plenty of missing teeth!

OH and check out the costume at 2:23!  What is that,  the Ben Franklin WHITE series?

Seriously (and it is hard to be watching this crowd) could there be a more clueless group of people interviewed at any gathering about politics in America?  And the sad thing is some who are very intelligent  align themselves with these nutjobs!

It's a little funny and a lot sad  that you actually believe the things you post.

Teabagging Agent Provocateurs (or How to plant ‘troublemakers’ in a crowd of peaceful protesters, Walker-style)

“I would like to hear more of an explanation from Governor Walker as to what exactly was being considered, and to what degree it was discussed by his cabinet members. I find it very unsettling and troubling that anyone would consider creating safety risks for our citizens and law enforcement officers.” —Madison Police Chief Noble Wray said Thursday that he was disturbed that, during a prank phone call, Walker said he thought about planting troublemakers among peaceful protesters.
