OK...I admit it. I went out to Family Ford last week, foolishly 'hoping' my key might open the new truck. Alas, such was not the case. However, just for showing up, I was told that I had 'won' a FREE MP3 player. Unfortunately, they were 'out' and I'd have to come back later to 'pick it up'. Well....I go out yesterday to pick it up and am given a VOUCHER for my FREE MP3 player...along with notice to remit $21.99 for 'processing and shipping'!!!

I'm sure Family Ford intended to GAIN future customers by luring them in with the prospect of winning a vehicle, but with THIS 'FREE MP3 player stunt', they have LOST any future business this FORD fan would have EVER given them.

'When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.'

'And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms.'

Hey dogsoldier0513....The same thing happened to my grandfather! That was definately not a very good way to "reel" in new customers, was it!
Dogsoldier, I used to work at Family Ford and all of that is just garbage...It is so fake that it is disgusting even to some of the employees who work there... The tv in the showroom was supposed to be raffled off but as you can see every person that put there name in the box was ripped off big time. The owner had no intentions of ever giving it away...I really have come to dislike that place...
I too got 2 of those keys, I knew immediately it was a scam and ripped up the paper surrounding the keys and threw them away, never gave it a second thought. You know when you get something like that, and "if it's too good to be true", then It probably is. Don't waste your precious gas money going for this crap, use your precious gas money on something good.
Please keep in mind, I am in no way defending Family Ford. I used to work in car dealerships and occassionally we would have a promotion such as this. The way it was done is that the winner was guaranteed to be mailed. There are companies that contract these promotions and obtain mailing lists for the specific area targeted. Like I said, the winner was guaranteed to be mailed out, hence the 1:44000 chance of winning (1 car winner out of 44000 mailers). Now, the winner still has to come in to win. The way these cars are given away is that an insurance policy (same as when a golf tournament gives one for a hole-in-one) is purchased to cover the cost of the vehicle IF the winner comes in to claim the prize. Like I said before, I don't have any idea what Family Ford does, but that is how those promotions work.

They did this a few years ago but the stunt was a shopping spree. Only thing was you used this code to go online and pay outrageous shipping fees for JUNK. I am with you. I wont shop at Ford anymore because of these lame stunts and wasting my time.
Why can't businesses remember that an unsatisfied customer will tell twice as many people about their experience than a satisfied customer. Although, if a company goes the extra mile to make an unhappy customer satisfied, they have usually gained that customer back but also that customer is now more likely to tell even more about how the company went the extra mile for them. At this point, I don't think there is any chance of them regaining trust in anyone who tried to claim a "prize".

All these gimicks do is create a whole mess of unhappy customers! If a customer feels ripped of on an "Free" MP3 player, does Family Ford think their customers will feel better about coming in to make the second most expensive purchase a family makes (most expensive being a house)- of course not! All that does is make me think that if they are ripping me off on an MP3 player, they will for sure rip me off on a car!
