Who's on Twitter?

@tollie here. The tip quoted above is from my blog. There are other tips there as well, but I'm working on developing two lengthier posts - about the basics of twitter and social media, and another about the emerging "manifesto" for business communication in this medium.

I have a Twitter account, however, I can't figure out how to use it. It doesn't seem to be as friend find friendly as myspace and facebook.

and people can say they're anybody on Twitter. I'm no fan. Yet.

I'm with you George, I am a Twitter person, but for the life of me I do not know how to figure out how to use it either. I have an Aol, Yahoo, Facebook and My Space account, but I cannot for the life ot me figure out how to Twitter. LOL, Maybe somebody can help me. HUH?? Any takers? Donna C

It's just another social media tool to stay connected with friends, colleagues, family, etc.

Twitter can only be as useful as you want it to be. The more people you 'follow' the more you'll get out of it. Although there's a balance there because if you follow too many, you'll have a harder time keeping up.

Its a great resource for whatever you're interested in. I get tons of great links to sites and blogs about graphic design and web development.

You can also ask your "friends" for recommendations on products, sites, news, or for help with design/dev problems you're having...

That's the basics...people and companies are coming up with new uses for Twitter everyday.

I jumped in with both feet on Twitter and found some folks. I've got a good following now and am learning how it works. It's very similar to the facebook and myspace update page. You can also send private messages and links to websites, etc. my twitter addy

So you don't use your real name, but a screen name, right? As opposed to facebook where you use your real name..

It's like facebook but only the update part. It's a mini blog.
