For the most part I have always either attended a United Methodist Church or a Southern Baptist Church and this would be because the core beliefs at those two seem to come closest to what my personal beliefs are.
As for the Church I currently attend it is a Baptist Church, the ones who help with the youth program are great with the kids and a good influence on my children, it also has the most hospitable friendly bunch of people of any Church I have ever been to.
The main reason I choose to keep attending where I go now (Westside Baptist in Tuscumbia) is that I love my Sunday school class. The first time I went there is because it was more convenient than driving to Florence but after the first time I kept dropping in now and then and have decided that is where I want to stay. The first time I went was a Sunday night and one of the ladies directed me to a Sunday school class where the next youngest person was probably near twice my age. I thought to myself, man I must not be aging very graceful at all if she thought this was my class but as I sat in that night I found that I enjoyed the class. The next Sunday I went back and the same lady informed me that she had made a mistake and there was another class with people closer to my age, I replied that if it was ok with everyone else that I liked the one I was in just fine. Being in a class with the age gap has turned out to be a good thing, these guys seem to have a lot different perspective than other folks my age have and well perhaps some of their wisdom might eventually rub off on me if I can ever start attending more regularly.
I quit going to churches for domination rule reasons. To me, The Church is your heart and how you live for Christ, not a stone building that many judge others.

Either way, I've read some of the religous zealots on here that would drive anyone from being a "Member" of a domination and probally alot away from Christ, to be honest.

As far as I know there is know prerequisite for being a member of a certain denomination to get you to heaven in the bible.

I'm sure I'll get flamed for this.. flame on

No Mr. Clean; you are correct. Why would you get flamed for the truth?

One does not “go to church”. The church is the people; The buildings have steeples. lol
I love the Lord and I love His people but I have been jaded by some bad apples in leadership. Right now I am currently actively looking for a church. I long to be in a congregation of believers who are loving and not materialistic and you can trust the leaders to not be playing church politics for their own agenda...but I don't want to travel a long distance because I want to be involved. So I am hoping I get some good leads here. LOL
I may have to die before I find that church...

Nah, I'm not gonna flame ya, Mr Clean. If there is a god, it's just nature. I'm a lot closer to nature floating on a lake, casting lures than I ever was in a building being told how unworthy I am.
I go where I go because the people truly care about each other, and they don't run and get in the car and leave just as amen is said, when the service is dismissed there will be some stand up and some that just sits and talk about things, and they truly care about their brother or sister in christ and will help them in any way they can if they need help. you will never hear one of our members telling anything on another person that goes to church there, that happens too often. I am only speaking for our church, the one group that I go worship with. the Centerview C of C
