http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,24070088-13762,00.html is a link about an Astronaut that was intelligent enough to be picked to go to the moon and walk on the moon and yet when he makes a statement referring to Aliens actually visiting the earth as fact why hasn't this been news other than in Australia?

Hey I'm skeptical as the next person and I know there are a lot of crazy people out there and a lot of hype but when someone as legit as this guy makes the statements he does I can't see why it's not news?

it stated in the article that it was played down by NASA. I have no doubt there is life elsewhere in the universe. I have said it beofre we humans are far to arrogant simply because we have come as far as we have with technology, but then again, maybe our our technology IS exactly WHY . Heck the US claims to be the most powerful nation in the world yet one man(bin ladin) has outsmated us for awhile now, they are not about admit to intelligent beings somewhere else,LOL!
Hey there gbrk, I totally agree with U. I have seen on Larry King LIve several times in the past few months, there were several people, astronauts, pilots, law enforcement, and other highly influential people. They all have "seen" these UFO's. I have no doubt in my mind that there are others out there. Our Government has been covering this stuff up for decades. Remember Roswell? Hmm, makes U wonder huh? Maybe someday our Government will open up and tell us all the truth. But, I'm not holding my breath.

Because he doesn't back his claims up with evidence?

Yes, even smart people lose their minds or delude themselves into believing that which does not exist.

With regard to alien life, I tend to support the theory expressed in the Fermi paradox.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fermi_paradox

"The Fermi paradox is the apparent contradiction between high estimates of the probability of the existence of extraterrestrial civilizations and the lack of evidence for, or contact with, such civilizations."

The more we humans look, the more is appears that we may, in fact, be the only intelligent life in this endless universe. That thought - and all that it might mean - is endlessly fascinating to me.

The same people who claim there has not been any evidence of aliens because no alien body dead or live has been presented before anyones eyes...
are the same people who say they talk to god every day...

Go Fiqure...

Not totally now, I believe in God yet i also believe that aliens or life other than ours here on Earth very much exist, somewhere else. I don't have to see bodies I think reason and chance along argue for that possibility. In that they could be far superior to our intelligence is also a very distinct possibility for there is so much we are yet to learn. To use your point though ... no aliens because there is no physical evidence is more like the argument of saying there is no God because there is no physical evidence, not that people that don't believe in God use only that one criteria to base their opinions upon but using that simplistic approach to compare to your statement, which also holds true as well.
