If the memory makes you smile then it was the best. You reminded me of something. Not a bad gift but a memory that makes me smile. Smile now that is. One year I hunted and found my "Santa" gift and ohhhhhhhhh it was just what I had ask for!!! We'd been told not to snoop but you know how it is. Anyway, my mom could tell I'd found it cause I had taken it out and looked at it of course. So comes Christmas morning and I run in to get my wonderful present from Santa. It's no where to be found and of course I can't ask where it is because I would have to admit I'd found it. She had replaced it with another Santa present. After a few days of torture(for me) she left it on my bed while I was asleep. Believe me I never snooped again! Don't mess with "Santa" or mom.
I had and aunt and uncle that always got me some strange "Musk" cologne from the local dollar store. I never used any of it. In fact it was some nasty stuff but I know it is suppose to be the thought that counts. I think they eventually usually got thown away though. Frowner

My best present would have to be the go-cart my dad traded a 30/30 shotgun for. I think I was 10 or 11.
Best-- in December 1988, married less than a year, i was given a young step daughter and her half brother to raise. They needed a Mom, and it kept my son from being raised as an only child. That was a great Christmas!

Tie for worst-- with first husband....I bought him a leather briefcase he'd been wanting. Inside was Alabama cap, sweatshirt, and tshirt.
He bought me a pinball game. Coincidence, the same one he had mentioned wanting.

Second husband---his Mom had learned to bedazzle, and to paint on material with oil paint. The result>> purple sweat suit painted with large pink flowers and highlighted with multi colored rhinestones.
Just my luck, it fit Mad
Since I am old now> Big Grin
Worst= Sitting by myself in a restaurant on the road on X-mas.

The best.
Since I usually spend the first 2 weeks of December away at work for me it is simple. This year it will be after flying back from Calgary and across this great nation. Driving back to the area from Memphis seeing all the Christmas lights then driving up to my home. As I pull up seeing the Christmas tree lit up with my wife and daughter around it. I always take a few moments to just take in the sight and give thanks for making it home safely. I hope yours is as Happy as mine.
Merry Christmas
