If you dont like em dont read em......

We're not the ones that get our undies in a bunch over Your opinions, but you do over Our opinions. So, who is it that has a problem discussing things, again?

Yea, Thought so. Big Grin

Take your own advice, hun, "If you don't like what we think- don't read/respond to it." Big Grin

I have no problem with other peoples posts. I state my opinion and ya'll cry foul. bo who. I'm not here to make fantasy friends, if you don't like my posts well I'm so sorry for you, dont read em, move over em. I still think its stupid for the schools to let kids out during a storm. I know of 3 families in colbert co. schools that the bus will drop them off and both parents are at work and cant take off and they live in mobile homes. Is that safe or smart. Is the school gonna be responsible for the kids if they get killed, I think not. If your kids get hurt at school, the school is just responsible for treatment. Why do you think they want you to buy school insurance at the start of every year? No enterprise schools was not sued, it was just a bad tragedy, the community pulled together and helped each other get through it. Schools are not responsible for natural disasters. Thats my opinion if you cant handle it like alot of people on this forum cant handle other people's opinion then so sorry, there are other forums to go to.

*reads back over the thread* Hmm, no one cried foul.

It was maybe a lively discussion, but not crying foul. No one would have even gotten rude with you, if you hadn't told people to SIT on a corn cob, if they didn't like what you said.

That's what? Third grad tactics right there? I could understand a comment like that, /only/ if someone said something offensive to you first- Which I didn't see.

Perhaps my perception is honed better, I don't know. Smiler

The problem is, A2D, you don't know how to state your thoughts (or maybe you refuse to) so that they are clear without being argumentative.

Up until the corn cob, comment, I was almost agreeing with your point. I saw where you were coming from, but you started to be a Brute with it, and that turned me off from reading it further.

Seriously, every thread you are on, you disagree or perhaps you play devil's advocate, in your replies. When people disagree with you, your attitude becomes nasty, and childish.

There's no reason for that. Hopefully, one day you'll grow up a little, or learn how to share your thoughts without being demeaning, and making yourself look like a rear-end. Smiler

No one said we couldn't handle your opinions, we just don't like them when they are presented in a grade school manner. If you can't handle that, then perhaps not responding would be best?

I don't know what to tell you, other than that. People here have given you more benefit of the doubt than you probably deserve- I sure know I have over time. I actually feel sorry for people like you, that has some sort of agenda against all others. You don't know how to socialize in a manner that you can learn from other people. Without learning, then you can't grow.

Speak for yourself about the fantasy friends. There are people here that I consider genuine friends- not fantasy at all. People that I plan on meeting offline, and getting to know better, and carry that friendship on and Off the computer. Smiler (Perhaps you are jealous on this? That's still undecided. Smiler )

Hope you have a good day- Your point wasn't bad, just the relaying it was. *sigh*

That was your choice to go pickup your child, they shouldn't make it mandatory for everyone to do that, they should have safety systems in place to protect children like Florence city probably does. I'd like to know how many children have been hurt in this area from storms while they were in school,0. Thats your choice to go pickup your child. Wonder how many teachers stayed at school to catch up on work, probably none and there not children.

3 today when an elementary school was destroyed.

If you only went to school 12 yrs then you didn't complete a very long college career??? Explains why you said "in the 40's and 50's when you wasin school.(were). I attended elementary school in the 80's and NO we were not let out. What is the difference? What harm does it do for a parent to be with their child when they are scared? Its not like they are getting alot of work done with their head between their knees in the hallway!

I wonder if he'll ever get it? *shakes head*

Good points made, STOI.

~Amanda
I don't get it. No one is stopping you from picking your kids up from school. You don't have to wait until there is an "official" release that may or may not be delayed for whatever reason. If you feel your child needs to be with you at home, go get them. If you don't have the capability to pick them up from school, or feel they are safer at school...leave them there. All schools have an evacuation plan.

Personally, I think it is ridiculous to release for "it might" weather. However, I am intelligent enough to watch the radar and make the decision whether my children should remain at school or be picked up. Transporting in bad weather is not safe. If for some reason the bell for dismissal rings and it is not safe to transport students, then don't. Wait until it is safer.

Schools do have to attend a certain percentage of the day or have to do a make-up day. It might even be true about the funding and FCS bus situation. However, if that is the case fine. Let the school do what they have to do. Everyone has rules to follow, even schools. The rules do not stop you from checking your child out.

Believe me, she is like NOTHING in the dark ages. See how ignorant we can be when we don't know FACTS??? Big Grin
Just my 2 cents....we dodged a bullet with this weather. There was some cloud cover that held the temp down. If the sun had warmed us up another degree or 2, we WOULD have had some nasty stuff. I would much rather the schools let the kiddos out and be WRONG, then to keep them and be WRONG. Just ask the Enterprise parents. Just ask the Mississippi parents. If our local schools stay in knowing tornados are coming and something bad happens, parents will leave the cemetaries and call their lawyers. If schools let out, a tornado hits and a bus full of children is blown away, parents will leave the cemetary and call their lawyers. The schools CANNOT win, no matter what they do. Our society is too lawsuit-happy. Everything is someones's fault. There are no more "natural disasters". It's always someone's fault these day....just ask....a lawyer. Roll Eyes
