Depending on what you use you laptop for, you might want to try out a new operating system instead of a tune up. Linux is available in many free flavors. Try one, you might just like it. Tune ups not required.

A friend showed me how to install my op system (Windows 98) via DOS, where it can be re-installed by a simple command, and about 20 minutes of time, no disc reqired, no drivers to locate and install. I don't know if this method can be used on newer op systems.
Since I don't know very much about these new fangled things, whenever mine starts getting squirley, I just re-install.
You didn't say what op system you have , but if it is old like mine, maybe you could get someone to show you how to do that.

called him anyway and he now has the dHell to work on. As he put it, he divorced my sis not me.
i'm on my backup 'puter which is a '96 Toshiba laptop that does good to connect at 14,000 (dial up) and uses Windows '95.
A blast from the past....lol
