Power restored to Webster Hotel

No, the Webster used to be a Ramada. The former Holiday Inn is now the Emerald.

No WONDER business is down! Consider all the newer and nice motels that have gone up in the last few years. An independent like the Webster could hardly hope to compete with the big boys. This area is saturated with motels!

This was the same place that was shut down about a month ago for not paying Sheffield the taxes due. I heard a rumor that the taxes were actually finally paid by one of the employees out of his own pocket, but I have no personal knowledge on that , just hearsay.
I think this place's days are numbered.

The fact that the hotel management knew that the power was going to be disconnected but chose not to inform the guests is unforgivable. This plus the other screw-ups by this company show that they need to sell the property or shut it down. They are too incompetent to run a lodging.

The owner lives in Georgia, IIRC, and is probably using the Webster as a tax write-off.

It is bad when a property's owner don't care anything about the place. I see this all the time with rental property, if the owner don't care then the tenants surely is not going to care and the property eventually falls to inoperable condition. This property is really not so old that it cannot be brought into a decent condition. There is however other places in close proximity of this hotel that needs the bulldozer taken to them. Sheffield needs to get rid of those eyesores that are on the only remaining thoroughfare if they wish to have a better image!

WOW!! What a shame. That's where me and my husband stayed on our wedding night many moons ago! Glad to see all this publicity bc I was thinking about trying to get our old suite back just for old times sake. Sounds really YUCKY, to use a nice term!

I'll put it this way...I tried to stay in one of the suites a couple of years ago. The bed was hideous and a big old water bug or roach or something crawled out of one of the jets of the jacuzzi while it was filling. Got a refund and went to the HI.

Never stayed there myself but it really does sound nasty. Especially after reading the other thread with the link to reviews from people who have stayed there.
