Stolen Tombstone Spotted

There is a tombstone, name I will withhold here, died October 1920 which has evidently been stolen from a grave here in Florence. If you are missing the grave marker/tombstone of a loved one, PM me with the name of the person and I will give you details on where to find it.

Email Josh Ault at waff and ask him to do a story on it. He can block the name of the person as well and get it out to many more people than the forum will.

Several years ago someone found a tombstone in a trash pile in the county. After the TD ran an article on it, it turned out the family had replaced it with a nicer one. This could possibly be the case here.

If you called the Lauderdale/Florence library and asked for local history, they could look it up for you, tell you the name of the cemetery at least. That way you could contact some some of the family.

That is funny!
If they are silly enough to steal it, then they just might report it stolen if someone else took it.
Reminds me of the Cops episodes where the junkie calls the cops to report that the dealer has taken their money and given them no drugs in return.
