Bill, I see that "Christian" Heart of yours is in full form tonight. Keep it up, those people that read but don't post that you're trying to reach is hopefully reading this, & seeing what a kind, loving heart you have.

Duh:

Slang an ironic response to a question or statement, implying that the speaker is stupid.

[Imitative of an utterance attributed to slow-witted people]

As this string has drifted along, something has been given less attention than it deserves.  Fred With respect to the President's alleged Muslim loyalties, Thompson has done the same evasive thing that Mitt Romney has done.  Specifically, when given a chance to correct those who accuse the President of Muslim layalties, Romney has forfeited the opportunity, instead of showing the integrity to correct the silly-assed proponents of that notion.  John McCain was honest and straightforward enough to addres the matter head on when a frazzle-headed old bat raved to him about Obama being a Muslim.  Thompson, Romney, and  and their ilk, in declining to correct a patently incorrect accusation, show that in their crabbed and narrow mindset, politics trumps candor.

Wow contendah, look at the typos, you are really upset. Anyway, how is it romney's place to "correct" people about obama's "loyalties"?  Where has obama "corrected" the people accusing romney of being in a cult? Have I just missed that? You have some nerve to get on this forum and rant and rave that someone should be correcting people about obama when you yourself have never missed a chance to run down mormons.

Best I don't want to get into a political debate with you....but you ask so I thought I would provide you with this info.

President Barack Obama's reelection campaign on Monday repudiated comic Bill Maher's description of Mitt Romney's religion, Mormonism, as a " cult."

Maher, a major donor to a super PAC backing Obama, had tweeted "Why even listen to #MittRomney on foreign policy? His entire FP experience is 2 yrs trying to brow-beat Frenchmen into joining his cult." The former Massachusetts governor spent two years in France as a missionary.

"Attacking a candidate's religion is out of bounds, and our campaign will not engage in it, and we don't think others should either," campaign spokeswoman Lis Smith told Yahoo News by email.

I have never posted anything about Mormons that was not true.  If the truth "runs down" Mormons, then it is Mormons who are responsible for getting themselves "run down."

It is very widely held that Mormonism is, in fact, a CULT.  To you and many others to whom ANY religious belief is absurd, the concept of "cult" is such an evasive one, that you would probably consider either ALL or NONE of religious beliefs to be cultish. In any case, it is not up to the President to rise to the issue of whether or not Mormonism is or is not a cult.

Romney, I will concede, has no obligation to correct those who, in his presence, make absurd pronouncements about Obama or any other political opponents of Romney's.   But Romney missed an opportunity to show some real character and integrity by correcting persons who, in his presence, utter patently absurd criticisms of the President or any other political opponent of Mr. Plastic Etch-a-Sketch Man.  Leaving such issues un-addressed under such circumstances likely gives many of Romney's hearers the idea that he is in agreement with the twaddle peddled by those ignoramuses.

What you say about mormons means nothing to me. You accuse them of bizarre beliefs when yours are just as, or more, bizarre. Once more, it's not romney's place to correct or "take up for" obama's beliefs, whatever the heck they are. I certainly wouldn't defend a man that sat in a "church" for 20 years and listened, followed, believed, and upheld what wright preached.

I grew up my whole life hearing that the Church of Christ was a cult. It was & is considered that because of the crazy, out there things they believe & teach.

Just because some people believe it, doesn't make it so.
